Your Withdrawal Says "Pending": What It Is Actually Waiting For

The three states hiding behind "pending", with the real deposit/withdrawal confirmation counts our engine reads from an exchange's public API (dated snapshot), and when to start asking support.

Direct answer

"Pending" hides at least three states: queued at the exchange (no TxID), broadcast on-chain (TxID exists), or waiting for confirmations (counting blocks). Check your TxID on any explorer: confirmations climbing means normal waiting; nothing moving for longer than the exchange's stated guidance, or an explorer showing failed while the exchange says pending, means open a ticket.

Your Withdrawal Says "Pending": What It Is Actually Waiting For

Bottom line first: "Pending" is not one state — it is at least three different ones (queued at the exchange, broadcast on-chain, waiting for block confirmations), and what you should do differs in each. Below are the real confirmation-count numbers our data engine reads from an exchange's public API every day, so you can tell "normal waiting" from "something is wrong."

1. Where your money actually is, depending on the state

  • Queued / processing at the exchange: no transaction hash (TxID) exists yet. Nothing has left the exchange; the wait is entirely on their side.
  • Broadcast on-chain (a TxID exists): the transaction is in the mempool or included in a block. From this moment the exchange can't "cancel" it — only the chain's rules decide when it finalises.
  • Waiting for confirmations: the sending chain requires N block confirmations before the receiving platform treats it as final. This is where most "it's pending but I can see it on the explorer" cases sit.

You can check which of the three you are in from any block explorer with your TxID — that is a fact you can verify without trusting anyone.

2. The numbers behind the waiting (real API data, not folklore)

Our data engine pulls withdrawal rules from Bitget's public coin API daily. For USDT, the same coin on different networks carries different confirmation requirements — snapshot 2026-10-14T14:06:01Z:

Network Deposit confirmations (crediting side counts) Withdrawal confirmations (releasing side counts)
TRC20 3 3
BEP20 15 60
Arbitrum One 12 12
Polygon 60 300
ERC20 (Ethereum) 12 96
Plasma 10 200

Two honest notes about this table:

  • These are field values from one exchange's public API (the coin endpoint's deposit/withdraw confirmation fields). Other exchanges may count differently — we haven't collected theirs, so the comparison is not measured for the other four exchanges on this site.
  • We deliberately don't convert "300 confirmations" into minutes. How long depends on live block speed and reorgs; a site that quotes you a guaranteed ETA is making a promise no data can keep.

The practical reading: the same coin you moved in 3 minutes last week can legitimately sit far longer on a different network — the table above is why, and choosing the network is the lever you control.

3. When "pending" is normal and when it isn't

Normal waiting, in order of likelihood:

  1. No TxID yet and the exchange shows it in review/queue — their batch and security process, not the chain.
  2. TxID exists but confirmation count is climbing — watch the explorer; if confirmations increase, it is progressing.

Start asking support when:

  • The state has not changed at all for longer than that exchange's own stated processing guidance (check their help page — we link ours under Rescue below); or
  • The explorer shows the transaction as failed or reverted while the exchange still shows pending; or
  • You withdrew on a network the exchange had suspended that day (see 463 of 5,110 coin-network pairs are closed for withdrawal right now — suspensions are visible in the API the same way we track them).

4. What this site can and cannot do for you

We can: show the live rules behind these waits (deposit-path engine), keep a dated change feed of withdrawal rules, and walk your ticket through the exchange’s support process using the pre-transfer check.

We cannot: touch your funds, promise a release time, or guarantee any exchange's decision. No recovery of a transfer is ever guaranteed — treat anyone who promises otherwise (including screenshots of "successful cases") as a red flag: Missing Memo/Tag and Address Poisoning.

Data source and fetch time: confirmation counts and withdrawal-rules fields are from Bitget's public API (/api/v2/spot/public/coins, fetched 2026-10-14T14:06:01Z, endpoint reachability re-verified live this day); the three-state reading of "pending" (queue / broadcast / confirmations) is our own process description of those fields, not a quote from an exchange.
